Leeds surpasses London in AI employment growth

A new report from Leeds-based data firm The Data City reveals that local AI companies are expanding their workforce at an impressive annual rate of 22%—more than triple London’s 7.2% and significantly above the national average of 4.8%.

This rapid growth highlights Leeds’ emergence as a dynamic hub for innovation and diversity. The city boasts a thriving entrepreneurial landscape, with women founding one in five new businesses and holding over 27% of company directorships.
