Law firm secures new Leeds office

A law firm has taken a floor in a Leeds city centre office building in a deal supported by commercial property advisers from professional services business Knights.

Leigh Day, which is headquartered in London, specialises in human rights law – along with other key areas including personal injury, clinical negligence, and employment.

The firm has taken a lease on the eighth floor of the 12-storey One City Square. The 10,000-plus sq ft floor was previously occupied by Deloitte, which has three further floors in the recently refurbished grade A office building.

National legal and professional services business Knights, which has 26 offices throughout the UK, has worked with Leigh Day for 15 years and the team from its Nottingham office has assisted with the Leeds move, overseen by Knights partner Erin Vickers.

Vickers said: “One City Square is a prominent office building right in the centre of Leeds and is ideally placed for Leigh Day to make its mark in the city. We have been working with Leigh Day for a decade and a half and have been pleased to support its strategy for growth into the UK regions.

“Knights has assisted with a number of Leigh Day transactions including office leases in London and Manchester. Knights also worked with Leigh Day when it became the primary occupier at Panagram, the landmark office building in Clerkenwell in London when the firm took a total of 28,360 sq ft over five floors on a 12-year lease in 2021. We also provided the legal support when Leigh Day launched in Manchester Central Park, creating a specialist medical negligence team.”
