305-Room Hotel Reaches Construction Milestone in Leeds

GMI Construction Group has completed the topping out of the £62.7 million Hyatt Hotel, marking the final phase of the Sovereign Square development in Leeds.

Located adjacent to Leeds’ central railway station, the 12-storey, 305-bedroom hotel is a joint venture between Marrico LLP and Helios, developed on behalf of UK Commercial Property REIT (UKCM) and Hyatt.

The 140,000 sq ft hotel will be operated by hospitality company Aimbridge, under a 25-year franchise agreement with Hyatt Hotels, which continues to expand its footprint in the UK.

Bringing together the Hyatt House and Hyatt Place brands, the hotel will offer both short- and long-stay accommodation for business and leisure travellers.
