The Thorpe Park site, situated adjacent to the M1 at Junction 46 just outside the city centre, is an identified mixed use site offering developments in housing, retail and office space. At the forefront of the site is the proposed new train station, Thorpe Park Leeds has been chosen to benefit from a new rail station, ‘East Leeds Parkway’, and associated Park & Ride. Connectivity is vital for Thorpe Park and with the plans for accessible public transport it will help serve the local and greater community.
The Springs retail outlet was the first phase of this mixed-use site, the retail outlet opened in October 2018 and has attracted a variety of tenants and customer since opening. Phase 2 is currently underway; this is the development and construction of the housing units. These dwellings are currently under development and they are targeted for completion in 2020. Land has been allocated and cleared for the phase 3 development; this will be made up of additional office space and a green park near to the centre of the development.
The current stage of development is building upon the strong foundation already set, adding a further 1,400,000 sq. ft. of mixed use accommodation, and an additional 300 homes to create one of the largest and most diverse out of town business locations in the UK. Including 140 acres of parkland and public realm, in a prominent, strategic and well-connected location.
